we are noticing that some fonts are not converting properly from word to PDF using Aspose. we use mostly times new roman in our documents. we have seen a font in our document called TimesNewRomanPSMT. This font renders identically to times new roman in word and in a PDF rendered with word. however, using aspose, the font renders to some other font - looks like arial.
to work around this without having to change all our documents, is there a default that can be set in Aspose such that if it finds an unknown font, it will use times new roman?
Thanks for your request. Could you please attach your input document, the output PDF and the font here for testing? I will investigate the problem on my side and provide you more information.
Thank you for additional information. The problem occurs because you use the font which is not installed on your PC, that’s why Aspose.Words tries to find some alternative font, that’s why the font is changed. As a workaround please try using fonts which are already installed on your PC.
Thank you for the reply. In many cases, our clients provide us with the templates so we are unaware of the fonts being used throughout. Is there a way that Aspose can be set to default to a specific font when it encounters a font that is not found or installed?
Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, there is no way to specify font, which will be used by default if some font is unavailable. Your request has been linked to the appropriate issue, you will be notified as soon as such feature is available.
thanks again. one more question please. is it possible to change the font of the overall word document using Aspose.Words so that whatever is specified in the word document, we would change it to Times New Roman 12 using Aspose.Words before generating the PDF.
