We have noticed that as the PST size goes large, its processing slows both for adding and extracting messages. Are there any performance issues with large PST files in your knowledge? How should we deal this issue?

Thank you for posting your inquiry.
It is true that as PST size goes very large, the processing gets slower. We have tested it in past over a different number of emails, increasing the size of PST to up to 3 GB. An optimal PST size for fast processing is around 1.5 GB. Please let us know if you have any further query in this regard.

Doesn’t Outlook set the max size for PST files to 50GB? Does Aspose.Email not support larger than 3GB PST files?

No, it’s not. You can create larger files as well. But as PST file grows, performance is expected to slow down. For handling large files, please see the guidelines at Working with large PST files|Documentation.

Open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
Click Export to a file and click Next.
Select Outlook data file (. pst) and click Next.
Choose the mail folder to export and click Next.
Click Browse to choose a save location and click Finish.
