When we select ranges of cells,the selection is highlighted by some specific color,which impact our functionality of converting selected ranges to HTML by overwriting the default selection color.

Well, if you could select a range of cells in Ms Excel, you will see that cells are also highlighted with some color, so this is expected and this temporary shaded color is used to differentiate b/w your selection and unselected cells which is also compulsory. We normally follow MS Excel standards and this highlighted selection is conventional our users are used to it.
