Gridweb: Paging not working with two Gridwebs on one page

Hi,

we have two gridwebs in a popup to compare changes of a document. However, when the document is too big the browser is not responding. That’s why we wanted to include paging for the two gridwebs. Unfortunately, paging is only working for the second gridweb control. How can we fix this problem?

Another question is how to synchronize the paging of the two grids (every gridview must always show the same page)? Do you have any advice?

Thanks for the sample project with template file(s).

After an initial test, I observed the issue as you mentioned by using your sample project with your template file. I found that Paging is not working with two GridWebs on one page as it only works for the second GridWeb. I have logged a ticket with an id “CELLSNET-45139” for your issue. We will look into it soon.

Regarding the issue “CELLSNET-45156”, please note:

We add OnPageChangeClientFunction property in GridWeb.

thanks for the quick fix. Paging is now working with both gridwebs. But the OnPageChangeClientFunction is not called when the page is changed. Am I doing something wrong?

I have tested your sample project a bit. I noticed that second GridWeb does not show the same page (or changes its page index) when I changed the page index in the first GridWeb. May be it is a little glitch in your code segment. We need to evaluate the feature and look into your project thoroughly, we will do it soon. I have reopened the ticket (logged earlier as “CELLSNET-45156”) now.

Please refer to the description and sample of the OnPageChangeClientFunction in the post here:

As OnPageChangeClientFunction denotes: ->Gets or sets the client side function to be called when page index is changing. So if GridWeb1 page is changed, you need’t call selectPageIndex for GridWeb1 in the end as it is already happened. Please make sure that Gridweb1.OnPageChangeClientFunction trigger Gridweb2.selectPageIndex(index); and vice versa, i.e., Gridweb2.OnPageChangeClientFunction should also trigger Gridweb1.selectPageIndex(index); accordingly. It looks like you do not define PageChangeClientFunction for the second GridWeb where he should specify the page index for the first GridWeb. You only defines the PageChangeClientFunction for the first GridWeb where you specifies the page index for both GridWebs where you only need to specify for the second GridWeb only.

Please update your sample code to accommodate the devised changes and try again.

Hi Amjad,

As I stated in my previous post: The OnPageChangeClientFunction is not called at all when the page is changed. In the definition of GridWeb1 I set the OnPageChangeClientFunction="GridPageChange".

GridPageChange looks like this:

function GridPageChange(index) {

alert("current page is:"+index);

document.getElementById("<%= GridWeb1.ClientID %>").selectPageIndex(index);

document.getElementById("<%= GridWeb2.ClientID %>").selectPageIndex(index);

}

So there should be a messagebox when I change the page index of GridWeb1. I know that I have to set the OnPageChangeClientFunction for the second Gridweb too. But as I said before, the OnPageChangeClientFunction is never called.

Do you have any other advices?

Could you please move GridPageChange function just below “<asp:Content ID=“Content2” ContentPlaceHolderID=“MainAppContent” runat=“Server”>”. The code goes like this:

We are not sure why it is affected, however then this is the normal javascript way.
