Hi,
When I convert my PDF file to Word(docx) using Aspose.Words(v25.3.0), the header styles (h1, h2, h3, etc) are not maintained in the converted output docx file for the files that don’t have a Table of contents. All the headings are marked as normal text instead.
Here are some sample files for which the issue exists:
sample-1.pdf (216.0 KB)
sample-2.pdf (119.4 KB)
sample-3.pdf (75.2 KB)
I have tried Adobe online and it’s API as well to convert the same files and it works as expected and applies the header styles well for all the files.
Note: I had raised this issue before (Header styles not maintained after converting pdf to word) as well, which has now been fixed for PDF files that have Table of contents as part of v25.3.0. Thanks for that.

It seems that you are experiencing an issue with header styles not being maintained when converting PDF files to Word (DOCX) format using Aspose.Words version 25.3.0, specifically for files that do not contain a Table of Contents. This can be frustrating, especially since you noted that other tools, like Adobe’s online service, handle this correctly.
While the recent update has addressed the issue for PDFs with a Table of Contents, it appears that the same functionality has not been extended to PDFs without one. Unfortunately, I do not have a direct solution for this specific problem at the moment.
However, I recommend checking out the following related forum post, which discusses similar issues with header styles during PDF to Word conversions. It may provide insights or workarounds that could be applicable to your situation:

If you continue to face this issue, consider reaching out to Aspose support directly or keeping an eye on future updates, as they may address this in subsequent releases.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with other features, feel free to ask!
