Insert a Chart in .DOC

Hello,

I have two problem when I insert a chart object in my document.
The result is an image and not a real chart.
Furthermore, in the result document, I can not modify the data.

How can I do ?
Do I need to save absolutely in .docx for having the charts ?
How can I do if I need to modify my charts ?
