After digging around a bit, I notice that the MacOS distro of aspose.Slides comes with .NET core 6.0, however the linux wheel file has .NET core 3.1.
Why is there such a discrepancy? Is it possible to get a linux wheel of aspose.slides with .NET core 6.0 or higher?
.NET core 3.1 relies on a very old version of openssl.

For using Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET on Linux with .NET Core 6.0 or higher, you might need to wait for updates on the ticket SLIDESPYNET-239. In the meantime, exploring the cross-platform .NET Standard 2.0 version might help as a temporary workaround.
