Is there possible to use Aspose.Slides to open PowerPoint docs in Android OS?

Hi, i’m Herditya from Indonesia.
I’m working on my final project, I need an API to open a PowerPoint document on the phone with Android operating system.
Can I use Aspose.Slides for Java?

I'm glad to share with you that you can use Aspose.Slides for Java for opening MS PowerPoint presentations on you android phone.

By using Aspose.Slides for Java you can access all slides within a presentation and all shapes within a slide. For detail documentation of Aspose.Slides for Java you can access Aspose.Slides for Java online documentation.

Hi,

Excuse me, i’m new in Java programming, how to install Aspose.Slides library so I can import them on my project? I’m use Eclipse as IDE to create application on Android.
I’ve download Aspose.Slides for Java with newest version 2.8.2. I’ve extract instalation file an I found 4 folder (doc, example, lib, php) and some License text. I look at “lib” folder that contains:

aspose.slides-2.8.2.jar
aspose.slides-2.8.2-jdk14.jar
log4j-1.2.16.jar

I don’t know how to use them, can you guide me or give some manual to use on Android?

Thanks for your interest in Aspose.Slides,

I assume that you succeed in creating HelloWorld appilcation.

Once the HelloWorld application is created and you are able to run it without any problem, you can add the reference of Aspose.Slides for Java API in eclipse under Project -> Properties -> Java Build Path.
Select Libraries tab and click “add external JAR’s”. Provide the path of Aspose.Slides for Java API reference i.e. aspose.slides-2.8.2.jar for latest JDK and Open. Select OK

over Properties for project dialog.
Import Aspose.Slides for Java Package in project using import aspose.slides.ppt.*;
Write the code to generate ppt presentation inside onCreate(…) method. Run the project and select the HelloWorld application over main application area of the phone.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Aspose.Slides,

I assume that you succeed in creating HelloWorld application.

Once the HelloWorld application is created and you are able to run it without any problem, you can add the reference of Aspose.Slides for Java API in eclipse under Project -> Properties -> Java Build Path.
Select Libraries tab and click “add external JAR’s”. Provide the path of Aspose.Slides for Java API reference i.e. aspose.slides-2.8.2.jar for latest JDK and Open. Select OK

over Properties for project dialog.
Import Aspose.Slides for Java Package in project using import aspose.slides.ppt.*;
Write the code to generate ppt presentation inside onCreate(…) method. Run the project and select the HelloWorld application over main application area of the phone.

Hi,

I read programming manual for Aspose.Slides, it mentions that if I use evaluation version I will get watermark when I create new slide and save it. Does watermark still appear if I just open a slide I made using Microsoft Office PowerPoint at desktop?

Thanks for your interest in Aspose.Slides.

There is no such difference between evaluation and licensed version in terms of functionality. The only difference that is presence of watermark in generated presentation for evaluation version. If you open Aspose.Slides generated presentation even on your PC with MS PowerPoint it will contain evaluation version watermark.

Hi Hassan,

I’m trying to run Android test application which uses the last aspose.slides library trial version. Looks like it’s impossible to run Android application using aspose library jar’s, because they aren’t built for Android platform.

[2012-03-23 17:41:40 - AsposeTest] Dx warning: Ignoring InnerClasses attribute for an anonymous inner class

(com.aspose.slides.obfuscated.ema) that doesn’t come with an

associated EnclosingMethod attribute. This class was probably produced by a

compiler that did not target the modern .class file format. The recommended

solution is to recompile the class from source, using an up-to-date compiler

and without specifying any “-target” type options. The consequence of ignoring

this warning is that reflective operations on this class will incorrectly

indicate that it is not an inner class.
