IWarningCallback: better message for table width problems

I recently added a IWarningCallback to our app and noticed a warning that might be improved.

See attached sample:
AsposeWarning.zip (18.1 KB)

It reports this warning:

  • WarningType = “MinorFormattingLoss”
  • Source = “Validator”
  • Description = “Table width exceed maximum allowed, table was resized.”

The warning is probably correct, as I added an empty column with default width to a table whose other columns span the full page width. I removed this empty col and the warning is gone.

But in my case the original document is rather complex (about 10 different tables), so it was hard to identify the problematic table.
Any chance to add more details to the warning, e.g. all column widths and the overall width of the table? This would make it easier to analyse the warning.

I assume there is no chance to identity the table, e.g. by adding a “fifth table in document” info to the message?

Best regards

Wolfgang

@wknauf

Could you please clarify what specific improvements you would like to see in the warning message regarding table width problems? Are you looking for additional details in the warning itself or suggestions on how to handle the issue?

I ask whether it is possible to add more details to the warning to better identify the table that causes the warning, and report more details about the warning cause.
Maybe something like this:

First table in document: width exceed maximum allowed (table width: x cm, column widths: 5 cm, 12.5 cm, xxx), table was resized.

Is something like this possible?

I resolved the cause for the warning myself, so no help needed here.
