Hi,
just looking for some advice we have a legacy part of a system that uses Batch-Print to print PDF's that are placed into a certain folder, we are unable to change that at the moment, but that is the future plan.
However, Pdf's produced via aspose are not printing via the Batch-Print application, I tried saving the Pdf to a version that worked ok from the previous Pdf production but that hasn't worked the version doesn't seem to make a difference.
Does anyone have any advice ?
cheers
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for using our API.
Can you please confirm that you are not able to print any of the PDF file generated through Aspose.Pdf for .NET or you have started facing this problem for last few releases ?
If possible, can you please share the batch-print application or some related project which can help us in replicating this problem in our environment. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
HI Nayyer,
thanks for getting back to me, unfortunately I can't send you the Batch-Print application it is an old piece software created by addendum I think is the company name. If you want I can send you 2 PDF's from created by Aspose and 1 created by Pdf Factory Pro where the Aspose will not print but the Pdf Factory Pro version created FROM the Aspose file does actually print, will this help at all ?
I have attached the files, so the file name InfoStmtUpdate2_PDF_Factory.pdf was created off the other attachment and that file "InfoStmtUpdate2_PDF_Factory.pdf" prints correctly via the addendum software Batch-Print application. The one created by Aspose DOES NOT PRINT.
cheers
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for sharing the resource files.
I have analyzed both PDF files and they appear fine. However in order for us to replicate the issue, we need to try PDF printing at our end. Apparently both PDF files look fine and they both are printing fine using Print option from Adobe Reader except one observation that printout of InfoStmtUpdate2_PDF_Factory.pdf file is not crisp and clear as compared to the printout of other document generated with Aspose.Pdf.
I am not entirely certain that either we will be able to figure out the reasons of this issue but for the sake of resolution, I have logged an investigation ticket as PDFNEWNET-38957 in our issue tracking system. We
will investigate this issue in details and will keep you updated on the status
of a correction. We
apologize for your inconvenience.
Besides this, you may also consider printing PDF files using Aspose.Pdf for .NET. Our API can be used to print PDF files and even you can print documents in a batch. For more information, please visit Working with PDF printing (Facades)
HI Nayyer,
thanks very much for this, when I did some initial analysis of the files just using a text editor there did appear to be quite some differences, but I would think you guys would be able to judge the quality better than me.
Long term we are definitely looking to replace this batch printing mechanism just we can't do that at the moment, so we are just trying to work out a way to get the flat Aspose files to print correctly.
thanks for looking into it.
cheers
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the feedback. We have logged an investigation ticket and our development team will try figuring out the difference between two files and see if they can resolve this issue. We will keep you posted on the status of correction. Please be patient and spare us little time.
Hi Nayyer,
I was wondering if you had any luck with the comparison of those files or if you had anything that we might be able to try ?
regards
Michael Pine
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your patience.
The development team has further investigated the issue and during our testing, its been observed that PDF files are properly being printed in our environment (I have already shared this behavior). However, can you please share the details about printer drivers which you are using as it will help us in further investigating the problem.
