Merging 2 jpg files I selected output jpg and hit merge. I got pdf instead of jpg. Tried twice and same problem. Just signed up for free to try it out and having problem already.

Which Aspose API, tool or app you are using? Could you please zip and attach your JPGs and sample code snippet (if any) to reproduce the issue on our end, we will check it soon.
