We’re currently trying to move our testing pipelines to ARM64 Linux (Graviton instances) to speed up their currently very slow execution, and Aspose.Words for Python not having a Linux ARM64 build is completely blocking us from switching. Looking on PyPI it seems like there’s no native build. Am I wrong? Is there any plans to release an ARM64 Linux build?
We’re currently using Aspose.Words for Python (pip freeze
shows aspose-words==23.12.0
)
@ichicoro You are right, currently there is no version of Aspose.Words for Python for Linux ARM. This feature request is logged as WORDSPYTHON-2. We will keep you updated and let you know once it is available. Unfortunately, currently there are no estimates.
Hi,
We’re also using Graviton on AWS and Mac M4 machines for development, and the lack of Linux ARM support is really slowing us down.
I noticed the discussion here focuses mainly on Aspose.Words for Python, but would it also be possible to add support for the following packages?
- aspose-words
- aspose-cells-python
- aspose-slides
- aspose-pdf
If Linux ARM support is released, will it cover all .NET-based Python packages or only Aspose.Words?
Also, is there a way for us to track the status of this request? Could you please share a link if available?
Thanks a lot!
@charlesNiskus All Aspose for Python via .NET products relies on the same wrapper technology. So Once support of Linux ARM is supported by the wrapper, it will be available for all Aspose for Python via .NET products.
@alexey.noskov Thanks for your anwser, and do you have a timeline for when this will be release ? And where I can follow the status ?
@charlesNiskus I am afraid currently there are no estimates for this feature.
