MS Excel features handling by Aspose Cells 8.6.2 for Java

We are currently bulk generating Excel xls/xlsx report by Aspose Cells 8.6.2 for Java well, and planning to upgrade our PC’s MS Office 2013 to 2019.

We concern whether the version 8.6.2 of Aspose Cells will remove the 2019 features of a xlsx updated by MS Office 2019 in the followings procedures:

  1. Aspose Cells loads a XLSX template with MS Office 2019 features
  2. Append data to the loaded template
  3. Save the updated template as an output

Thanks for your query.

Although we recommend you to kindly upgrade to latest Aspose.Cells for Java API (e.g., Aspose.Cells Aspose.Cells for Java v22.7 (Download | Maven)) to avail maximum enhancements/fixes and newer features of newer MS Excel versions but you may still use your older version, i.e., Aspose Cells 8.6.2 to work with newer MS Excel (2019) files unless you do not use newer features (introduced in MS Excel 2019 version). For simple XLSX files, there should be no issue and you may load the file, add/update data and save/re-save the Excel file. The files saved by Aspose Cells 8.6.2 should be opened fine into MS Excel 2019.
