New To Aspose

Dear Support

I am new to Aspose APIs and i am trying to implement them for OMR reading. On search i found the below page which reads text from the OMR that suits my requirement 100% . But i became stale and cannot move forward with the provided code there. I dont find any template.amr/choiceboxes.amr files in the attachments as well as the downloaded resources folder.

http://www.aspose.com/docs/display/OCRJAVA/Extract+Text+Data+from+a+Scanned+OMR+Form

Can someone please help me from where i need to start exactly and let me know the download links of the needed resources.

Thanks in Advanceā€¦

Varna

Hi Varna,

Thank you for considering Aspose APIs, and welcome to Aspose.OCR support forum.

Please note that the template.amr & choiceboxes.amr files are for reference only, and not available for download. You have to create your own templates (according to your form layout) to use the code from the referenced articles to perform the OMR operation. OMR templates (.amr files) can be created with Template Editor that is a visual component currently shipped with Aspose.OCR for .NET only. The Java version of the Template Editor is in the development phase, and we hope to publish it with the the upcoming release of Aspose.OCR for Java. We have attached this thread to the appropriate ticket (OCR-33739) from our database so that you could be notified automatically once the aforesaid feature is available for public use. In the meanwhile, you can use the Template Editor available with Aspose.OCR for .NET (please download the DLLs only version and check net3.5 folder). However, the .NET version of the Template Editor can only accept the .NET licenses therefore in order to use the Template Editor (.NET) you have to request for a temporary .NET license. Please also check details on How to use the Template Editor.

I have attached a few templates (.amr files) in archive to this post so you may get started with the process of OMR template creation. Please note, the attached templates are specific to the form layout therefore you may not be able to use these template with your own forms. However, if you can share the scanned sheet of your form, we can guide you with the basic layout for quick start.

Hi Varna,

This is to bring in your knowledge that the OMR Template Editor included in the latest version of Aspose.OCR for .NET 2.5.0 can accept Java licenses. Please check the documentation on how to set license for OMR Template Editor and feel free to get in touch if you face any difficulty.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as ) have been fixed in this Aspose.Words for JasperReports 18.3 update.
