Do you plan to bring one note support to java?
Hi John,
Thank you for your interest in Aspose.Note.
We do have plans to provide Aspose.Note for Java in future; however, this is too early for us to say when or share any time frame. We’ll update you via this thread once we support it in future. You can also keep in touch via our blog and newsletter.
Regards,
Any update on Aspose.Note plans for Java?
We just switched over to Java versions from .NET and not having parity will force us to incorporate both versions, which is obviously problematic.
Side note: Does .NET suite typically run ahead of Java family for incorporating new functionality or does it depend on the technology?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Thank you for the inquiry. I would like to update you that our development team has plans to auto port Aspose.Note for Java from its latest .NET version. Auto-porting allows us to maintain one code base and compile both the .NET and Java versions of our products from it. This benefits our customers because the two components are in sync and offer the same features.
Furthermore, it could take a little time due to the fewer number of requests. We have linked this feature request (issue id: NOTENET-479) for notification purposes. We’ll let you know once we have a significant progress in this regard. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Do you have any idea of a release timeline at this point? 6 months? Some time in 2015?
Any rough idea would be helpful for our planning purposes.
Thank You,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Thank you for the inquiry. We have already shared with you that it could take longer than usual. Furthermore, we have asked our development team to share an estimate. We’ll let you know immediately once a response is available from them.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for being patient. We have received a response from our development team. Unfortunately, it is not feasible for us to share an estimate. The .Net version doesn’t have now all the minimal functionality. We need to first improve its .NET version. We are immediately not ready to plan the Java porting. We’ll be able to share an estimate once its .NET version comes on track. Please be patient and spare us a little time.
