Is there any plan to support the new open xml format available in office 2007? We are thinking of buying the component but plan to support both the old and new excel formats so it would be great to be able to support them with just one set of code. If it is planned to support this format - when will the new component be released?

Well, actually we did release our first Aspose.Cells version 4.3 (you may download it) which does supports to read and write Excel2007 xlsx format.This is our introductory version which exports data, style and formulas in Excel2007 xlsx format. In our upcoming versions, importing xlsx and other advanced feature will also be supported soon.

From version 1.9.2 Aspose.Cells for Java supports reading and writing in Excel 2007 xlsx format, except some features such as chart, image, pivot table, etc. are not supported currently.
We supported the feature (create, manipulate and refresh Pivot Tables and charts in XLS/XLSX (MS Excel 2007 - 2019)) with enhancements in newer versions. We recommend you to kindly upgrade to and give it a try to latest version of Aspose.Cells. For example, see the document on PivotTables for your reference:
