I ran into an overlapping issue when
exporting rdl to slides. It seems that some textboxes
generated are smaller than what they should be.
Attached is an example of the exported pptx. The overlapping at firstname4 and firstname5. If you click on the content just below firstname4, the textbox is only 3 lines in height where the text occupied 4 lines, which causing the overlapping.
Please let me know if this is a bug or anything I can do to fix/get around this.
I have observed the issue shared by you. However, I need to reproduce the issue on my end for resolution. For that please share the source RDL file by using Adventure Works as data source. Please also share the Tiff image of the exported report for reference along with information of which version of Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services you are using on your end.
Please see attached for the RDL. It's using the Advanture Works data source. I had to add some test data to reproduce the issue(see AddSomeData.sql). And the OverlappingText.pptx is the output where you can see the issue in the first slide.
The report is from SQL Server 2008R2 reporting services. The Aspose slide version is 4.1.0.0.
Thanks for sharing the data. I have worked with the RDL file shared by you and have not been able to observe the issue text overlapping in case of PPT. However, I have been able to observe the issue in case of PPTX and an issue with ID SLIDESREP-33172 has been created in our issue tracking system to further investigate and resolve the issue. This thread has been linked with the issue so that you may be automatically notified once the issue will be resolved.
Thanks for investigating the issue. I know it's a difficult question, but can you give me a rough idea when the fix will be released? I don't need an exact date, but would be great to know if it'll be a few days, a few weeks or a few months. This will help a lot moving my project forward.
In addition, you mentioned that you didn't see the issue in the case of PPT, I just did an export to PPT with the same RDL and data I sent you before, and open the PPT with powerpoint2010 (compatibility mode), and saw the same issue.
I have requested our development team to schedule the issue for investigation. Once they will carry out their investigation then we will be able to share the ETA with you. As far as generated PPT is concerned, please find attached PPT for your kind reference. It has been rendered fine.
