PDF without content on Windows Mobile 6 and Adobe Reader LE 2.0

Hi,

We have been using Aspose.Pdf version 3.6.1.0 since the end of 2007. This week a client reported that a PDF that was emailed to him from our web application had no content when he opened it up on his PDA.

The PDF opens just fine on both XP, Vista, OSX, iPhone OS but not on Windows mobile.

We have asked other clients that use the Windows mobile platform and they have the same issue.

Have anyone else experienced this issue?

Kind regards,

Mikael

Hello Mikael,

Thanks for considering Aspose.

I’ve tested the scenario and I’m unable to reproduce the problem. In fact I’ve generated a sample PDF document using Aspose.Pdf v3.5.8.7, v3.6.2.9 and latest version 4.0.0.0 and tried viewing it over a PDA with Windows Mobile 6.1 platform using Adobe Reader LE 2.0 and the document is being displayed correctly without any issue.

Can you please share the code snippet or some details regarding the PDF your system is generating, so that we can test the scenario at our end. Moreover, it would also be great if you could share the sample PDF file that is causing an issue.

We apologize for your inconvenience.

Hello Mikael,

For your information.

As you have specified that customer is able to view the PDF over various platforms i.e. XP, VISTA, OSX, iPhone OS, but not over Windows Mobile, for the sake of confirmation, I've also tried viewing the PDF file generated by Aspose.Pdf over iPhone with OS 3.0 and I'm able to view it without any issue.

Hi Nayyer,

I’m sorry it took me this long to respond. Attached is the PDF that the customer is having an issue with.

To my understanding, he is getting a blank page with a little grey square in the middle. I have not tested with version 4.0.0.0 yet to see if there is a difference.

Kind regards

Mikael

Hello Mikael,

Thanks for sharing the resource file. I’ve tried viewing it over Windows Mobile with Adobe Reader LE 2.0 and I’m able to notice the same problem. PDF is not being displayed correctly and a grey square is being displayed around the middle of the page.

Is it possible that you can share the code snippet that you are using to generate the PDF document, so that we can test the complete scenario at our end.

We apologize for your inconvenience.

Hi Nayyer,

Please find attached example of the class used to create our pdf.

I have not ripped out to much so you should be able to get an understanding of what’s going on. Please let me know if you need any further information.

Kind regards

Mikael

Hello Mikael,

Thanks for sharing the resource file.

I’m afraid I’m unable to test the scenario as you have specified so many references to your customer methods and classes i.e. itinerary, PdfHelper etc

Can you please share the complete project, or simple code that we can use to test the scenario.

We are sorry for your inconvenience.

Hi Nayyer,

I was hoping you be able to find any anomaly by reviving the code.

I will create a sandbox project for this and try to replicate the code by replacing itinerary with static values etc.

This week is pretty full on so I’m hoping to have something over to you middle of next week.

Thanks for all your help.

Cheers!

Mikael
