Performance issue converting PDFs to Image with Scanned PDFs

My Project requires that I read bar codes from scanned pages. The pages are scanned at 300 DPI and saved as a PDF file. I am attempting to scan the bar codes from the pages using your products following the example here:

http://www.aspose.com/documentation/.net-components/aspose.barcode-for-.net/recognize-barcode-from-pdf-document.html

However I am seeing performance issues during the image extraction using PDF.Kit. Each page is taking 7 to 20 seconds just to extract the image. I am not seeing this problem on other PDF files which are not produced from Scanned pages.

Is there anything I can do to optimize the performance on the PDF.Kit.PDFExtractor? I’ve tried various combinations of FileProcessingStrategy and ExtractImageMode with no noticeable effect.

Thanks,
Jeremy
