Problem Opening File

When I create an Excel file using SQL Server DTS, ASPOSE.Excel can't open the file. If I open the file using Excel, then save it, the component then has no problem opening the file.

Under the covers I believe SQL Server DTS is using the OLEDB Jet 4.0 Provider. To test my theory, I used the create table SQL command using the Jet 4.0 provider, and sure enough, the same results.

Any theories on why this is happening?
Thanks,
~Dean

Hi Dean,

Could you send me the file created with Jet 4.0 provider? I will check this issue.

And by the way, which version are you using? The latest version is v2.6.

I sent the file, and I am using version 2.6. I am using the evaluation version, but we will be purchasing the component this week.
Thanks,
~Dean

Hi Dean,

I got it and check it now. Thanks for your patience.

Hi Dean,

Files created with DTS and SQL server are not consistent with files created with MS Excel. That caused this problem. I checked your file and fixed it. Please download the v2.6.1 at

That was fast. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.
Thanks,
~Dean
