I have a document for a client that I’ve attached. If I view the document in Word 2013 or in Word 2010, the Table of Contents look as expected. When I perform an UpdateFields() command on the document using Aspose, if I then save that document to disk and open it, there are extra Table of Contents items that don’t seem to coincide with what looks to be marked in the document. Why the difference? Is there something I can do to alleviate the problem and get the Table of Contents to view the same both before and after the call to UpdateFields()? Thank you!
Hi James,
Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that Aspose.Words tries to mimic the same behaviour as MS Word do. Please update the Table of Contents by using MS Word and check the MS Word behaviour.
Moreover, I have tested the scenario with latest version of Aspose.Words v 13.5.0 and have faced the System.NullReferenceException on calling Document.UpdateFields method. I have logged this issue as WORDSNET-8404 in our issue tracking system. I have linked this forum thread to the same issue and you will be notified via this forum thread once this issue is resolved.
We apologize for your inconvenience.
The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-8404) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.
