Hi,

Are there End-of-Life or End-of-Support dates for Aspose.Words for .NET?

I understand that there are yearly major release (E.g. “14.1.0”, “15.1.0”) and monthly minor release (E.g. “15.6.0”, 15.7.0") for the product. I wish to find out when will a release be not supported by Aspose or will Aspose continue to support all versions of the product (E.g. “10.0.0”)?

Hi Cephas,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that new versions of Aspose.Words come out at the end of every month. New release of Aspose.Words comes up with new features, enhancements in the existing features and bug fixes.

There is no way to get old versions of Aspose.Words. Our internal policy does not allow us to share versions of products older than one year. You can get only version of Aspose.Words that is not older than one year.

Moreover, we
don’t provide support for older released versions of Aspose.Words. We do not provide any fixes or patches for old versions
of Aspose products either. All fixes and new features are always added
into new versions of our products.

Thank you for the information. Please help to verify that the below understanding are correct.

  1. For new purchase, Aspose recommends customers to download the latest version.

  2. Reference point for new customers for End-of-Support will be Date of Purchase, Aspose recommends customers to perform a yearly upgrade to the latest version for the product to be supported.

  3. Customers may continue to use older version of product (more than one year from reference point) but there will be no support/bug fixes for the older version.

  4. In the scenarios where customers encounter bugs with the older version, Aspose recommends the customer to download the latest version, test and raise a ticket if the bugs still persist.

check the expiration date of your license file. To check an expiration
date of your license, open the license file using notepad. You will see
the following tags:

20150818

It means that you can free upgrade to version of Aspose.Words published before 08/18/2015.
