I just tried to reading a test project file .mpp in 2010 and 2007, but it is always returning the Project Start date year as 2000, and all task dates in year 2000 aswell. The real date is 2011. Please advice…

This is due to evaluation version limitation. You will see correct year in licensed version of the product.
