I would like to be able to parse the information from a word document so I can convert it to html. Is there any way to retrieve the formatting of the text within a document as well as the text itself?

At the moment this is not possible, but we plan to implement saving documents as HTML. This might be on 1-2 months time scale.
Please also check out https://forum.aspose.com/t/130516. This could be implemented sooner.
