Renewing the Aspose license

Hi All,

We are currently in the process of renewing the Aspose cells license. There is one problem we are facing is , we dont have any planned production deployment for the license.

If we pass that date and we don't update the license file on server during that month, will it break the existing reports? Please note that, we will be still paying for the new license before the license expires.

Thanks for your query.

Just for your information, when you purchase a license for a product (e.g Aspose.Cells) or a set of products, you are authorized to use this license file with any new ( and upcoming (official versions)) versions or hot fixes of the components for the next whole year. Moreover, your license will never expire if you use your license with the product’s version/hot fix that should be released before your subscription expiry date (you may open the license file into notepad and check the expiry date, please do not update your license least it would not work any more).
Moreover, if you need to use any version of the product(s) which is released after your subscription expiry date, then you have to upgrade your subscription.

Thanks for the response.

My question is more specific to case. Lets say my lisence expires on Jan 31 2015 and we already got the latest license lets say on Jan 26th.

In this case on the day of Jan 31 2015, do we have to physically replace the license files on server to make Aspose work?

Well, if you are using an existing Aspose version which was released before Jan 31, 2015 and you want to stick with it, you do not need to use new license.

And, yes, you will physically replace the license file with the older one (and may restart the server etc.) if you want to use new license and you would probably avail new fixes and versions of the product(s) that are released in the next whole year or so.
