Requirements involves data being in XML format

Please note the following queries

  1. Is there any way that repeating regions in word can be handled without result set from data base.
    To be more specific, can an XML be used for repeating regions as our requirements involves data being in XML format.
  2. I had learnt that aspose words does not use Microsoft word for its processing and parsing.
    So will it be possible for me to prepare a Microsoft word template in windows platform and have the same template in UNIX server[ where the actual java application runs].
    Will the aspose still process the template and helps in preparing a new word document?
