Hi,
I am creating a presentation by using a template ppt, replacing some text and images and then copying the data to a new presentation. I am having some very strange issues when trying to save the presentation (via Web.Response download). Here is what happens for different formats:
pdf - I get an excpetion on the save method that says “duplicate”
ppt - I get an exception on the save method that syas “This export format is not implemented for PPT yet.”
pptx - My presentation is downloaded but the presentation does not contain the replaced images and does not contain any of the slides I added.
Please help!
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Scott,
I have observed the requirements shared and request you to please try using Aspose.Slides for .NET 14.10.0 on your end. If there is still an issue then please share the sample application along with source and generated output with us. I will investigate the issue further on my end to help you out.
Many Thanks,
Hi,
I was already using the latest Aspose.Slides version. I have attached a zip file with a sample project. I am getting a bit different results with the test project. You can run the project and then click on one of the 3 buttons on the screen.
Here are my results:
PDF - Works fine.
PPT - Exception thrown. Message: This export format is not implemented for PPT yet.
PPTX - Error when opening in PowerPoint. PowerPoint found a problem with content… PowerPoint can attempt to repair. I clicked Repair on this dialog. It then brings up another dialog that says it can’t read all content and has removed some. However, the presentation seems to be OK when it finally opens. Note that I am using PowerPoint 2013 with all of the latest patches.
My first choice is to have this work as a ppt export. Second choice is pptx. Pdf is really just a test as we need to use this file to do a slide show.
Note that I removed our license file from the project before zipping it and uploading it.
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Scott,
Thank you for sharing the sample project. I have been able to observe the exception while saving the presentation to PPT and an issue with ID SLIDESNET-36049 has been created to investigate and resolve the issue. I have also observed the presentation repair message for generated PPTX presentation and an issue with ID SLIDESNET-36050 has been created to investigate and resolve this issue. This thread has been linked with the issue so that you may be automatically notified once the issue will be resolved.
As a workaround for PPT saving issue, I suggest you to please try saving the presentation as PPT file on disk for the time being without using HTTPResponse.
We are sorry for your inconvenience,
The issues you have found earlier (filed as SLIDESNET-36049) have been fixed in this update.
