Save OLE Objects to file

Hi!

I already postet relating to OLE objects: MapiAttachment.getLongFileName() = null when RTF Mail is sent

I have another question - we got a sample mail from one of our customers and he has an Excel-Diagram in the mail - I prepared a testmail with the same issue and looked at the attachment-table in mfcmapi (see Attachment “mfcmapi_excel.png”).

How can I save this Diagram in a format, that it can be viewed in Excel? I tried to save it the same way as Pictures, but with extension .xls - it does not work. Is there any solution for this problem?

Thanks & best regards

Andi

Hi Andi,

Thank you for contacting Aspose support team.

This issue needs further investigation and it is requested that please provide us a sample file containing the Excel-diagram. It will help us to re-produce the scenario and provide assistance accordingly.

Thanks for your reply, I will upload a sample message as soon as I am back to my working place.

Best regards

Sure. Please feel free to share your feedback with us for further assistance in this regard.

Good morning from Austria

I attached “message.zip” with a msg-file with various stuff inside. My goal is to extract all embedded things out of this mail. The images and the doc-file do work properly, but I can’t save the diagram in a way that I can read it.

Best regards & thanks

Hi Andi,

I have investigated the issue and tried to save this Excel Chart using Outlook 2016. I am afraid that I could not find any option to save this chart (for viewing it in Excel or some other software ) using Outlook, however, we can save other inline object formats like doc or images using Outlook. You may also try this using Outlook.

As we cannot save this object on disc for viewing in other applications using Outlook, I am afraid that Aspose.Email also cannot save it to some readable format.

Please feel free if you have any other issue related to Aspose.Email.

Thank you for your great support, I will ignore embedded Excel-files.

Best regards

Andi
