If I save this particular powerpoint to PDF, it creates a corrupt PDF. None of the contents of the PPT come through, only the background. I’m using the latest version 4.0.0.

There is some problem with your ppt. I have just recreated the ppt and converted it to the pdf. Both ppt and pdf are attached as ZIP.
