I am trying to download the following file from the web and then process the file using Aspose.Cells. This file is a .html file and hence Aspose.Cells won’t let me open it. I was told that Aspose.Words might help me to save this file in a format which can then be processed by Aspose.Cells. Please Advise. Following is the link to the file.
Thanks for your request. You can open HTML document using Aspose.Words, but you can’t directly save the document in any format that are supported by Aspose.Cells (XLS, CSV etc). You can try to create custom converted class to achieve this. Please see the attached class. This class converts DOC to XSL using Aspose.Words and Aspose.Cells. but note that this converter will not give you pretty result since it is not finished and it is difficult to convert DOC to XLS.
I was trying to read a word document using Aspose.Words. However the Aspose.Words would not let me read the entire document and terminated with the following line:
This document was truncated here because it was created using Aspose.Words in Evaluation Mode.
Thanks for your request. This occurs because you are using Aspose.Words in evaluation mode. If you want to test Aspose.Words without the evaluation version limitations, you can request a 30-day Temporary License. Please refer to
Thanks for the quick reply. I have got the temporary license. Please let me know where i should put this license file to unlock the full capablites of Aspose.Words.
This thread addresses exactly what I am looking for.
Back to the topic of “document conversion.”
I am interested in Aspose.Word and Aspose.Cells for one reason. I need an easy way to run a service to perform document conversion. Since MS Office automation should not be used as a service I am drawn to Aspose.Word and Aspose.Cells.
Very simply, I have HTML document(s) that I need to convert to ,(.doc),(.rtf),(.pdf),(.csv), and (.xls).
I know RTF and PDF are suppose to be supported for Aspose.Word (Java) later this year. However, is there any possiblity that Aspose.Cells will support opening HTML files and saving them as (.xls) or (.csv) in the near future? (As MS Office Excel has the ability to open HTML and save as (.xls).)
