Is there any progress in supporting saving to an encrypted file? I noticed in a post dated 10/08 that there may be support for this funciton added early this year. I am unable to find it in the documentation. I understand that I can read an encrypted file, but I would also love to be able to save.

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is still no way to encrypt documents using Aspose.Words. I will notify you as soon as this feature is available.
With the current version of Aspose.Words you can specify only password to modify:

and protect your document:
https://docs.aspose.com/words/net/protect-or-encrypt-a-document/

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-1724) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.
