Section break for XML flow length control?

Hello,
I am trying to create an .epub file for Sony eReader. When viewed in Adobe Digital Editions the .epub file has the message “Document contains a resource which is too long.” (Refer to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406334.html). Through some experimenting it seems that the Section Break / Next Page in MS Word works to break up the XML flow length. However I would like to know:

  1. Do other breaks (Page Break, Section Break / Continuous) or insertions in the Word doc also accomplish this.
  2. Is there any way that one can determine what the resource length is in MS Word. It is tedious to keep converting to epub and checking in Adobe DE, not to mention that one cannot tell which section of the document is too long.

Thanks
