We are planning to user Aspose.Cells product family and below are few questions.

  1. What kind of security constraints we can expect from this tool
  2. What are the expected vulnerabilities if we go with this tool
  3. Is there any performance impact if we use this tool for converting excel to pdf

Thanks for considering Aspose.

  1. Aspose products (including Aspose.Cells) are secure. The APIs run in the same user context as any regular application. Therefore, Aspose.Cells does not pose a potential risk to vital system resources. Furthermore, when a document is opened by an Aspose component, vba codes or macros are not run. Aspose.Cells library was built with the goal of allowing developers to create, manipulate and save MS Excel files. None of the risks associated with the Microsoft Office package are inherent to Aspose.Cells by any means.

  2. No scripts or any kind of events/ handlers, etc. are output when using the APIs.

  3. Generally Aspose.Cells is well versed in rendering Excel files to PDF. It is seen in most cases, it can generate large MS Excel spreadsheet quickly and can take lessor RAM and CPU usage. It also does take care of the all the aspects (including layout, styles/formatting, binary objects) in Excel to PDF conversion, so it does not drop the quality. We recommend you to kindly give it a try to the APIs to evaluate it thoroughly before purchase. If you find any issue, we will be more than happy to address that issue to figure it out soon.
