Sharepoint Library sync to Dropbox

I installed the trial version of the Aspose.email to sharepoint and it appers to be all configured and pointing to my dropbox account but will not sync. Just continually shows never synced. Please help. Thanks Dana

Hi Dana,

First of all, please accept my apologies for the delayed response.

Could you please share more details regarding your system specifications so I may simulate the exact environment as of yours to correctly evaluate the problem cause? Please provide details like,
  • OS version
  • OS Architecture (32bit/64bit)
  • OS Service Packs
  • SharePoint Server version
  • Aspose.Email for SharePoint version
  • Any other specific details

Looking forward to your kind reply.
Regards,

The server is Windows
Server08 x64 running Sharepoint 2010. I tried to setup a document library sync on the
actual server web front end and also on my workstation which is windows 7 and I
get the same response as the screenshot I sent. Just says never synced and says
“Aspose.Network for Sharepoint Evaluation. Please purchase a license.” across
the top of the Sync with Dropbox popup window. Aspose Version is 1.3

Dana

Here is a screenshot of the sync to dropbox windows.

Hi Dana,

Thank you for further details.

I am preparing the required test environment to troubleshoot your issue. I will keep you posted with updates on this. Meanwhile, I will also require your evaluation license file. Please share it in a archive by clicking the “Contact” button on this thread, select “send babar.raza an email” and attach the archive to it.

From your attached document, it seems that your are not able to properly set the license. Please go through the below linked technical article for more details,
http://docs.aspose.com/display/emailsharepoint/Installing+Aspose.Email+for+SharePoint+License

I think that might be the issue.I dont have a license file. When I exported the zip file, I have 4 files that exported. They are:

Aspose_LicenseAGreement.rtf

Aspose.Network.Sharepoint2010.DocLibrarySync.wsp

Setup.exe.Config

Setup.exe

Hi Dana,

Please note that the license does not come with the component installation files. You have to either purchase a license or apply for a temporary one using the purchase system.

To further troubleshoot your problem, could you please check the “SharePoint 2010 Timer” windows service (short name is “SPTimerV4”) is running? Check the snapshot for reference and feed us back.

Regards,

I now have received the 30 day eval lic file. I have it saved in the same location where I am running the WSP install file from. How do I apply this? my WSP file does not point to this lic file.

Hi Dana,

Please follow the instructions given on below linked web page to set your license for Aspose.Email for SharePoint.
http://docs.aspose.com/display/emailsharepoint/Installing+Aspose.Email+for+SharePoint+License

Once the license is set, please check the license using the steps given on below linked page,
http://docs.aspose.com/display/emailsharepoint/Testing+a+License

What about my inquiry here? Is the "SharePoint 2010 Timer" service running on your machine?

Regards,

The timer service is running. I will try these instructions to set the license.

This is getting frustrating. What am I missing? Timer service is running.

I now have 5 files listed in the folder named Aspose Document Library Synchronization.
Aspose.email.sharepoint.lic
Aspose.Network.Sharepoint2010.doclibrarySync.wsp
Aspose_LicenseAgreement.rtf
Setup.exe
Setup.exe.config

I can run the deployment of the wsp file but it never points to the .lic file. The instructions discuss installing the Aspose.Email.Sharepoint.License.WSP file. I dont have that file. The temp license I got was the Aspose.Email.Sharepoint.lic file

Hi Dana,

I am really sorry for your trouble.

Please note, the license could be a LIC file (XML) as well as a WSP (Deployable Solution). If you have your temporary license as the LIC file then please place it in " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\Aspose.Network.SharePoint.License" folder.
Note: Please create the “Aspose.Network.SharePoint.License” folder if it does not exist.

Hopefully it will solve your licensing problem. In case your problem persists then please share the recent 5 log files from the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS"

Thank you

That worked for the license file. I think I am missing one more piece with the Dropbox web app setup. I paste the App Key and App Secret from the development app I setup on the dropbox website. I am not sure how to confirm that the register worked. my document library I am trying to sync still says never synced.

Hi Dana,

Thank you for your feedback.

To troubleshoot your problem, please share the recent 5 log files from the folder “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS”.

Regards,

Here are the 5 log files.

I have a document library called how do I within my sharepoint environment that I want to sync with dropbox. I have a dropbox account and I created a folder called how do I on the dropbox site.

Hi Dana,

Thank you for sharing the log files.

Upon reviewing the log files, we have noticed two problems,
  1. Error "List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. ".
  2. Error "Unable to send items List:“How Do I?”(dee2ff78-2633-4969-98ff-b924f653e8e0). The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized."

We think the problem could be one or both of the following,
  1. You are trying to sync deleted list
  2. You have typed wrong Dropbox credentials

Please make sure that the Dropbox credentials are valid. Also confirm Dropbox app registration and Dropbox API keys. Once confirmed, try to create new document library and to setup sync for it.

Thanks and Regards,

I created a new document library and confirmed the credentials but still no sync and same errors in the log files. I use the same credentials for dropbox on the website and those credentials work.

I get the Error "List does not exist when I try to sync with dropbx and I get the Error “Unable to send items Unauthorized” when I try to send to dropbox.

maybe uninstall aspose completely and restart the process?

Will the Aspose plugin allow me to sync multiple document libraries to multiple dropbox accounts? I can only register the plugin to a single api key and secret. or do I need to have 1 main dropbox account and have all of my libraries sync with that main account?

Hi Dana,

Are you able to resolve your Sync issue?

If not then please also go through the article on how to setup key and secret for transferring files with Dropbox.

Please note that Aspose.Email for SharePoint allows to sync many Dropbox account via single API keys pair.

I have been working with Dropbox and you trying to get this sync to work. Short answer is no sync yet. I get this error 400 when I setup the sync in sharepoint. I attached the last post from Dropbox for your review. Might help where we are. Please help, I am about to pull my hair out!!!

Thanks

Dana
