Signing of exported PDF files fails

Dear all,



we have a rather strange problem with PDF files exported by Aspose.Cells.

When opening the PDF file with Adobe Reader XI, signing it with the functions “Fill & Sign” -> “Place Signature” or “Place Initials” all characters in the PDF get somehow “scrambled” after saving.



The Problem does not occur when I first save the PDF file within Adobe Reader, then place the Signature or the Initials and then save again. We tried out different Aspose Versions (8.1.2 and 8.3.2) as well as different Adobe Reader Versions (11.0.06, 11.0.07, 11.0.09, 11.0.10).



Attached you can find the original XLSX and PDF file as written by Aspose, and the signed and presaved files as written by Adobe Reader.

Thanks for your posting and using Aspose.Cells.

Please provide us screenshots highlighting and illustrating this issue in detail. By Adobe Reader XI, do you mean Adobe Reader 11. I have Adobe Reader X and I do not find steps of signing as you mentioned.

i.e

Fill & Sign" -> “Place Signature” or "Place Initials"

Could you please provide screenshots how you are signing the document?

Also, is aspose_out.xlsx your source Excel file or if this is generated by Aspose. Please let us know the sample code how you are generating your pdf document.

Please also give a try to latest version: Aspose.Cells
for Java v8.3.2.4 and see if it makes any difference. Let us know your feedback.

Hi,

I think that the signing functions are new in Adobe Reader 11, so please check for an updated version.

Attached you can find screenshots demonstrating the steps I made in Adobe Reader as well as a small Java demo code together with input xlsx which is generating the PDF file.
I also tested the new Aspose.Cells for Java v8.3.2.4 - the problem remains.

Thanks for your screenshots and using Aspose.Cells.

We were able to observe this issue after experimenting your mentioned steps in screenshots using the Adobe Reader XI. When the signature is placed inside the Aspose.Cells output PDF, the data inside it gets scrambled.

We have logged this issue in our database for investigation. We will look into it and fix this issue. Once, the issue is resolved or we have some other update for you, we will let you know asap.

On our side the signing function of the Adobe Reader is now working flawlessly with PDFs generated by the new Cells version.
