Slides reporting issue

Our Clients are convinced with ASPOSE Slides for Reporting Services 2005 capability but they want to know the availability of some functionality. As per our discussion, we require the below Important Info on ASPOSE Slides for Reporting Services 2005:

Questions:

1. Is ASPOSE Slides for Reporting Services 2005 provided with .Net SDK for programmable interface? (If we want to access the Aspose Rendering section from .Net code) ?

1. We’ve a requirement scenario that we develop SSRS single slide report (Let say Rpt1, Rpt2, Rpt3, Rpt4) and deploy in Reporting Services. Now we have to provide an option to the clients That they can select single slide report (Lets assume client selects only Rpt2, Rpt3) and some predefined Powerpoint slides (Lets assume Appendix) has to merged for their presentation and to generate As a single powerpoint presentation.

We would like to know from you that whether ASPOSE Slides for Reporting Services 2005 supports the above merging single slide reports to a final powerpoint presentation report?

thx.

Irfan

Please reply asap.

To access presentation from .Net code you should use Aspose.Slides for .Net.
You can do it after whole report generation and can’t change generation process.
You can create new presentations, merge slides, change it and do many other
things with Aspose.Slides for .Net.

Still we are unable to understand.

We would like to get more information on the below queries

1. Need to merge a PPT comes from file server with the PPT generated from Aspose. Static PPT needs to merge at any position ( ie for eg. between 2nd and 3rd slides or at the end of the slide) of the PPT generated from Aspose.

Please define how we can achieve this using ASPOSE.

Note: We understand that ASPOSE will generate PPT from RDL

2. Whether ASPOSE supports to convert PDF to RDL.

3. Whether ASPOSE supports to convert PPT to RDL.

Regards,

M.Irfan

Hello Irfan,

1. That can’t be done directly from Reporting Services. You should write separate application
which uses Aspose.Slides for .Net (not for Reporting Services) and merge presentations or slides.
For additional information please check Aspose.Slides for .Net product and it’s documentation.

2, 3. It’s not supported.

We’ve a requirement to convert Powerpoint presentation to PDF document. We’ve identified ASPOSE Slides for .Net & Java to meet the requirement, but we’ve some issues with that; Please find it below:

We’ve tried with the ASPOSE Slides for .Net & Java latest version (2.9.0) and got errors and not able to run with the version and then we’ve tried the Proof of concept with the ASPOSE Slides for .Net & Java 2.8.9.0 (previous version) and we got the following issues; As of now the following are the issues we found out and we are not very sure about the other issues hiding:

  1. Referring to the attached PDF and PPT document, The Powerpoint presentation (PPT) layout (11inches wide X 8.5 inches height) that we tried to convert to PDF document which resulted in the layout with the size 10 inches wide X 7.5 inches height, which resulting in truncation of data in the right hand side. Please clarify is it the behaviour of tool.

  2. Referring to the attached PDF and PPT document, The Powerpoint presentation has an image in slide 5 which was truncated in the PPT to PDF conversion process. Please clarify is it the behaviour of tool.

Pls revert back soon.

Hello Irfan,

Aspose.Slides for Java can’t convert PPT to PDF. This feature exists in .Net version only.
Version 2.8.9 and older have old pdf rendering engine which is not supported anymore.
Could you write please what errors you talking about in 2.9.0?

Hi,

PFA error snapshots related to ASPOSE Slides for .Net. We got the error in the following scenarios.

  1. Downloaded and referenced ASPOSE Slides for .Net 2.9.0.0 in .Net application
  2. Written a code to convert PPT to PDF using ASPOSE Slides for .Net 2.9.0.0.
  3. When we tried running the conversion application we got the error specified in the attached document.

Please close this issues as soon as possible. Without closing these issues, we cannot recommend it to the clients.
