Hi Guys,
We are using Aspose.Cells product in our web application. Now we are planning to give functionality to design spreadsheet in Browser (IE, Mozilla), and the main focus in designing is to allow the users to drag-n-drop FORM CONTROLS (like button, checkbox, dropdown) on spreadsheet. Then with the help of Aspose.Cells this spreadsheet save on server along with FORM controls. And that SAVED spreadsheet is should be able to open in MSExcel.
I know right now the Aspose.Cells do not have the ability of Form Controls BUT do you have any future planning to write this in component, any specific date would be great for us to schedule.
Regards,
Awais
Hi Awais,
Hi,
Thanks for your posting and using Aspose.Cells family products.
I am afraid, we do not have any plans in near future for implementing such a GUI based control.
As a workaround, you can provide user some sort of interface for placing controls on web pages and then create these controls on your spreadsheet using Aspose.Cells.
Also, there is another similar control namely Aspose.Cells for GridWeb. Please also take a look at it and see if it could fit your requirements.
You can find samples in GridWeb documentation and GridWeb offline demos.
Thanks Shaleel,
Yes we are using WebGrid in our application and happy with its current functionality.
Anyways please do let us know if you plan to give GUI for adding Form Controls in browser using WebGrid.
Thanks again,
Awais
Hi,
Thanks for your posting and considering Aspose.
It’s actually highly unlikely that this control will be developed anytime in near future, it could take many months or may be years.
However, I have logged your request in our database. So that if some progress was ever made, you could be informed by us or automatically by our notification system.
This issue has been logged as CELLSNET-40897.
