Hi,
Newer versions of Excel have introduced the REGEXTEST() function:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/regextest-function-7d38200b-5e5c-4196-b4e6-9bff73afbd31
This is a very useful and versatile function, allowing simplification of many formulas.
When are you planning to support it in Aspose Cells?
Thanks in advance,
Taras

Summary
Aspose Cells does not currently support the Excel worksheet function REGEXTEST(). When a workbook containing this formula is processed by the library, the function is evaluated as #NAME?.
Why it happens
REGEXTEST() is a newer Excel function that has not yet been added to the Aspose Cells calculation engine. The feature is being tracked internally, but no release schedule has been announced.
What to do next
- Apply a workaround – replace
REGEXTEST(text, pattern) with a formula that Aspose Cells can evaluate, for example:
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH(pattern, text))
Adjust the pattern to a simple substring search, or combine ISNUMBER, FIND, and LEN to approximate regular‑expression behavior.
-
Monitor product updates – keep an eye on Aspose Cells release notes or the relevant forum discussion for any announcement that REGEXTEST() has been added.
-
Submit a feature request – use the Aspose Cells feedback channel to request support for REGEXTEST(). Providing details about your use case helps the product team prioritize the implementation.
-
Escalate internally if needed – if the function is critical for an upcoming deadline, let your internal support or development lead know so they can raise the request through the appropriate Aspose Cells support process.
Following these steps will allow your workbooks to remain functional while awaiting native support for REGEXTEST() in future Aspose Cells releases.
I could not fully verify this explanation against the retrieved sources. Please double-check the behaviour in your environment and confirm the exact SDK/version.
@TarasTielkes,
Thanks for your request.
Aspose.Cells does not support the REGEXTEST function. However, we will thoroughly evaluate this formula/function for potential support within the Aspose.Cells formula calculation engine.
