Support for Various Microsoft Word

Hi,

From on your website, it indicates that Aspose.Words for .NET only support Microsoft Word 97-2010.

Is there any support for Microsoft Word 2013 documents?

Given Microsoft Word 2016 will likely be launched later part of 2015, what is the estimated time after the official launch will it be supported by Aspose.Words for .NET

Thank you.

Regards,

Cephas

Hi Cephas,

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, Aspose.Words does support MS Word 2013 documents.

Aspose.Words supports all major OOXML versions for example OOXML ECMA-376 and OOXML ISO/IEC DIS 29500. OOXML WordprocessingML documents most often come as DOCX files, which are ZIP packages and Aspose.Words does support DOCX format.

Please use the latest version of Aspose.Words v15.7.0 and let us know if you face any issue while using Aspose.Words with MS Word 2013 documents. Regarding your query about Microsoft Word 2016, once this version of MS Word is launched, we will then be able to comment on this.

Please feel free to ask if you have any question about Aspose.Words, we will be happy to help you.

Hi Tahir,

Thank you for the information.

Based on your past experiences with MS Word 2010 and 2013, is there any indicative timeline for the new MS Word 2016 to be supported (e.g. 6/12/18 months?)

May I know if there will be any form of notification from Aspose to customers when MS Word 2016 document comes into support?

Regards,

Cephas

Unfortunately, we cannot share any timeline without knowing the features and enhancement in MS Word 2016. However, Aspose.Words supports all major OOXML versions for example OOXML ECMA-376 and OOXML ISO/IEC DIS 29500. OOXML WordprocessingML documents most often come as DOCX files, which are ZIP packages and Aspose.Words does support DOCX format.
