Found another strange one. Opening the attached file throws a system exception with “Bad Workbook file format” set as it’s message. Again I don’t see anything strange in the file when opening it in Excel(the document properties may be a contributing factor). If the problem can’t be solved could we get the exception wrapped in something other than System.Exception.

Hi,
Thanks for the file.
I got an error on opening his file “ReviewQuestionsDecisi%23A9059.xls”.
Unable to cast object of type ‘Aspose.Cells.Drawing.TextBox’ to type ‘Aspose.Cells.Drawing.CommentShape’.
I have logged this issue into our issue tracking system with an id: CELLSNET-20826. We will figure it out soon.

Hi Kevin,
We have looked into the issue mentioned by you. The MS Excel files provided by you are of format Excel 95 and we support from format Excel 97 to 2010. If you try to open the files and then "Save as", you can see the file format which is Excel 95.
Thanks,
This still doesn’t explain why System.Exception is thrown instead of the what I would expect, Aspose.Cells.CellsException. Throwing System.Exception is a poor practice and forces me to make a general catch deep in my own code which I would prefer not to do.
Hi Kevin,
Please use the updated version Aspose.Cells5.1.3.8.zip attached. The issue has been fixed.
Thanks,
The issues you have found earlier (filed as 20826) have been fixed in this update.
