Text cropped in Excel cells if the document rows are auto sized

Dear Support Team,

We’ve faced the issue with text cropped in Excel cells if the document rows are auto sized. The issue is especially noticeable on some fonts with cells text wrapped and vertically aligned Top or Bottom.

The following is the code to replicate the problem. Excel source spreadsheet and generated results are attached.

Rows are auto sized in 4 different ways. Predictably, way 1 = way 3, way 2 = way 4.

When AutoFitMergedCells = false, the result is better, but still far from ideal.

Thanks for your posting and using Aspose.Cells.

We have tested your issue with the latest version: Aspose.Cells
for .NET v8.1.0.2 and noticed that way 1 and way 3 produces correct results. However, way 2 and way 4 where AutoFitMergedCells = true produces incorrect results.

Do you find any issue with way 1 and way 3, then kindly highlight them in a screenshot. Otherwise, we will create an issue in our database so that the problem that occurs in way 2 and way 4 could be fixed.

Right, I haven’t mentioned that the issue in the case 1 and 3 is on print or in Excel print preview. Just in case, I attached my screenshot.
I’d also ask if option AutoFitMergedCells really changes the behaviour of merged cells? I haven’t noticed any difference in merged cells behaviour with AutoFitMergedCells true or false.

We were able to observe the autofit rows problem in 1.xlsx and 3.xlsx files in MS-Excel Print Preview. We have logged this issue in our database for investigation. We will look into it and fix this issue. Once, the issue is resolved or we have some other update for you, we will let you know asap.

Fonts are there. I can open them.

I’ve attached the example from another our customer “Test Auto Height 2.xlsx” and a bit modified “Test Auto Height 1.xlsx” showing the issue clearer (I modified first columns font).

I’ve also found out that ways 1 and 3, although look better, are not better at all.

because rows height was set as ‘auto’ in Excel file. Aspose still kept the
incorrect height in memory, but didn’t save it in xls file. If to force Aspose to save customer height in xlsx file the result is the same as ways 2, 4. It can be forced either by passing autoFitMergedCells=true<span style=“font-family:“Calibri Light”,“sans-serif”;
color:#0F243E;mso-fareast-language:EN-US”> or by reading height and setting it.
Setting auto (no height, way 1, 3) for rows is not working for us as our software formats reports in very specific way.

I installed the fonts but rows are still not autofitting correctly. I have logged my comments in our database against this issue. Please spare us some time. Once, there is some fix or other update for you, we will let you know asap.
