Attn Tech Support

We are evaluating Aspose.PDF and Aspose.Words for a government contract and need to make a decision shortly between Aspose and others such as Altsoft. We would rather settle on Aspose as it offers more extesnibility and scalability.

We have a requirement to build a WordML and Doc to PDF creation Web Service or Application based on .NET to link in with a content managment system and an Integrate Public Contracts application. The end goal is to digitally sign the PDF output and send it through the national postal services elcontonic mail system (Correos SNTS). There is an aspect of legally validity of the PDF and signature in play.

We have been trying to build a prototype with an evaluation version of Words 4.0.3.0 for .NET. Our DOC to PDF conversion works okay so far but WordML to PDF generates the following error:

Excepción no controlada del tipo ‘System.InvalidOperationException’ en aspose.words.dll

(Uncontrolled exception of type…)

Información adicional (Additional information): The file is in WordprocessingML format. Loading WordprocessingML files is not supported in the current version.

The input file is a dumb WordML file generated by Word 2003 that contains just the string ABCD.

Are we doing something fundamentally wrong? Any suggestions?

Many regards,

Seán

Hi Seán,

Thanks for your interest in Aspose.Words.

The WordML import is not yet made available in the current Aspose.Words version. We are working on it and it will probably be released in 4-5 weeks.

If it is your urgent requirement we can make it to be available in the next hotfix. Practically everything is implemented there except graphics and OLE support. Table support is also incomplete but will be ready by the end of the week. So if you can do without images support for a month or so then that is a way to go.

WordML export is fully fuctional and is available in the current version.

Also please note that the level of WordprocessingML support in Aspose.Words is uprecendented and covers practically all features and formatting provided by MS Word. More on the level of WordML support in Aspose.Words can be found here:

Best regards,
