Track Changes are not appearing in PDF Document

We are received full trail license for Aspose Words .Net. Using this tool we are trying to convert a Word document with track changes within the document. The PDF generation process is successful. However the PDF document doesn’t show the track changes.

Is there any settings that we need to perform before converting a word document to PDF to ensure the track changes are retained in PDF.

Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Aspose.Words does not support revision marks upon rendering/converting to PDF. We had already logged this feature request as WORDSNET-2120 in our issue tracking system. Hopefully, the fix will be available in April release v13.4.0. You will be notified via this forum thread once this feature is available.

We apologize for your inconvenience.

Hi Tahir,
Thanks for reply. As you mentioned this feature might be available in April release. May i know when is the v13.4.0 release.
Actually we are currenlty running with Trail version which is going to expire during this week. We would like to have a look on “Revision Marks” track changes feature and behaviour.

Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for your inquiry. You can request a 30-days Temporary License, please follow the instructions provided in the following link:
https://purchase.aspose.com/temporary-license

You can also contact our sales team directly at Aspose.Purchase forum.

I have verified the status of this feature WORDSNET-2120 from our issue tracking system. This feature is under development phase. Most probably, this feature will be included in the next version of Aspose.Words (v13.4.0) which is planned to be released by the end of this month (around April’ 30, 2013).

We appreciate your patience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-2120) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. Now revisions are rendered in PDF.

But We have the following issues in rendered PDF Document.
Paragraph Change Format (Vertical line) is not displaying.
Dots are displaying in between words (see the “attachment-2”)
How to change Revisions color (By Default it is coming in Red)? We have requirement that revision changes should be displayed in Blue or Black.
Please find the attached files for better under stand.
Attachment-1 is actual word document.
Attachment-2 is PDF generated using Aspose.

with regards,
Ramesh Sannidhi

Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for your inquiry. Could you please attach your input Word document here for testing? I will investigate the issue on my side and provide you more information.

Unfortunately, you can not change the color of revisions at the moment by using Aspose.Words. Regarding WORDSNET-2120, there are some known limitations e.g 1) exact colors for author revisions are not supported.
2) Advanced tracked changes options are not used, defaults are used: underline for insertions, strike through for deletions.

Hi Tahir,

Thank you so much for your quick response.

As per your request I am attaching input word document and generated PDF file.

The following are the issues in Generated PDF:

  1. Getting dots(…) in the place of space for inserted text. (see in the attached PDF)
  2. Paragraph change Track Line is not Rendering in PDF. You can find track line it in attached word document.
  3. Is there any chance to incorporate of changing color of revisions in next release?

Thanks and Regards,
Ramesh Sannidhi

I have managed to reproduce the same issue at my side. I have logged this issue as WORDSNET-8243 in our issue tracking system.

Unfortunately, Aspose.Words does not support the requested feature at the moment. However, I have logged this feature request as WORDSNET-8224 in our issue tracking system.
