Watermarks in PDF

Hi,
Watermarks are not converted to PDF. Please see the attached files:

  1. Watermark created by Aspose.Words (using Shape class).
  2. Watermark inserted by MS Word (using background text).
    Here are two questions:
  3. Will watermarks be supported in next release of Aspose.Words for Java?
  4. Can you suggest some workaround to have watermark text in generated PDF right now?
    Best regards, Evgeniy

Hi Evgeniy,

Thanks for your inquiry. The problem occurs because Aspose.Words for Java does not support WordArt during converting to PDF (this feature is in beta by the way). WordArt is already supported in .NET version of Aspose.Words and will be supported in Java version once conversion to PDF is out of beta.
As a temporary workaround, you can try inserted an image as a watermark.
Best regards.

Hi Alexey,
Thanks for fast reply. When the next release of Aspose.Words for Java is planned?
I remember it was planned in February and then delayed to first half of March.
Best regards, Evgeniy

Hi Evgeniy,

Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, we are still working on synchronizing .NET and Java versions of Aspose.Words. Once We finish this work, all features, which are available in .NET version will be also available in Java version. We plan to finish this work somewhere in May.
Best regards.

Hi Alexey,
I understand your position and hope that May’10 will be date of final version of Aspose.Words for Java with full PDF support.
But can you please arrange some preliminary releases to fix the errors and introduce new features already in March/April as you rolled out versions 4.0.1 and 4.0.2?
Best regards, Evgeniy

Hi Evgeniy,

Thanks for your inquiry. We will consider releasing intermediate versions with new features and fixes. You can enable e-mail subscription of Aspose.Words for Java download page and you will receive notification each time when new release comes out.
Best regards.

We are happy to inform you that the first auto-ported version of Aspose.Words for Java is ready. This version supports converting documents to PDF. You can get it from here.

Best regards,
Aspose.Words team

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSJAVA-35) have been fixed in this .NET update and in this Java update.
