Once I have an Item and its SchemaConcept, how can I find where that Item fits within the taxonomy so that I can reconstruct where the Item fits (e.g. its parent, and how it is presented)?
Could you please elaborate and provide more details about your requirements? Also, zip and attach a sample XBRL file and your expected document with details. This will help us to evaluate your requirements and we can provide a better solution for your needs.
Hi,
Thank you for your quick response. Attached is a ZIP with three filings for MSFT. We want to track various financial metrics over time consistently. For example, we want to track the total revenues for a company like MSFT over several years. However, the gaap tags used change and we would like to track when these changes occur. For example, MSFT uses gaap:Revenues up through their 2010.12.31 filing, then they use the gaap:SalesRevenueNet tag up through 2018.03.31 (which was then depreciated), and now they use the gaap: RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax.
Our understanding is that the taxonomy for each year defines which of the tags are being used for total revenues. How can we use the Aspose product to access the structure of the data to determine which gaap tag to use in any given year for abstract accounting concepts like total revenue, etc?
Here are three different filings for MSFT that use the three different gaap tags mentioned above for total revenues.
