Why Customise cost field value ignoring point of any decimal value

Hello,
I am facing a tough problem in my project requirement.I create a customize cost field and giving
value like this - $789.89 , $78.00 .But when fetching this extended attribute cost1 ,then showing
like this type value - $78989 … $7800 .Why its happen,Why can not fetching actual value.
please help me and giving the solution code…as soon as possible.
