The image Aspose.Cell captures does not look like the original excel chart

You are welcome.

@leoluo, the issue of asterisk getting covered by numbers, CELLSNET-55504, has been resolved as well?

@JThomas98,

Yes, the issue (logged as “CELLSNET-55504”) has also been resolved and the fix will be included in the upcoming Aspose.Cells for .NET v24.6.

Perfect, thank you!

@JThomas98,

You are welcome.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as CELLSNET-55606,CELLSNET-55738,CELLSNET-55504) have been fixed in this update. This message was posted using Bugs notification tool by johnson.shi

Hey Aspose Team,
I ran some tests using the new version of aspose cells and it looks like my issue of asterisk borders has not been resolved.
Here’s the output comparison and some test files.

@JThomas98,

Thanks for the template Excel file.

You are right. I can still see the issue in the output image for the outline/border of star characters in the “Summary” and “DetailCharts” sheets. The outline/border of the star characters is not rendered properly. We will be looking into it and get back to you soon.

Thank you, @amjad.sahi.

@JThomas98,

You are welcome.

Hi @JThomas98
After investigation, we can reproduce the problem. Because the descriptions in different excel templates are different, some characters are not recognized as“Artistic characters” in chart, so the border effect is not shown in chart in sheet “DetailCharts”. We apologize for this and will continue to optimize the issue, and we will inform you of any developments.

@JThomas98 ,

For the outline/border issue of star in the “Summary”, it is actually an conditional Icon Set. When render it to pdf, it is a raster image. The star has the border in the image, however, the image may be not clear enough because of scaling. You can save the source file manually to pdf in Excel, and check the result pdf generated by Excel.

Thanks, @leoluo.

@JThomas98
You are welcome.

@peyton.xu, is it not possible to capture the outlines of the icon set if its conditionally formatted?

@JThomas98
Thank you for your feedback. We will further investigate your issue. Once we have any new information, we will share it with you. We will get back to you soon.

@JThomas98 ,

As I said, in the pdf, the icon set is an image, the star has the border/outline, but it is not clear enough beacause of scaling. You can manually save the souce file to pdf in Excel, and check the icon set in the pdf generated by Excel, the icon set is also not clear enough.

I tried what you mentioned above and here’s what it looks like:
TestPDF.zip (166.6 KB)

You are right about pdf capturing borders correctly. But the stars in the image aspose rendered look nothing like it… Here’s what I’m talking about:
Screenshot.zip (113.5 KB)

@JThomas98,

Thank you for the screenshot and PDF document. We noticed that the PDF output generated by Excel has borders/outline for the star icon. We will continue to investigate your issue and get back to you soon.

@JThomas98 ,

The color of stars in Aspose.Cells generated pdf is yellow, however the color of stars in Excel generated pdf is more like brown. Is it the issue?
