Unable to recognize license. Evaluation Copy message appears

We purchased a license for Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services and followed the directions at http://www.aspose.com/docs/display/cellsreportingservices/Licensing by renaming the Aspose.Cells.lic to Aspose.Cells.Reporting.Services.lic and putting it in the locations of

${Installation Folder}\Bin\
${Installation Folder}\License\
${MSSQL Server Reporting Services} \ReportServer\Bin\
${MSSQL Server Reporting Services}\ReportServer\

Unfortunetly we are still having the evaluation watermark worksheet appear when we export to Excel 2007.

The email directions say to go to http://www.aspose.com/Wiki/default.aspx/Aspose.Corporate/HowToUseLicense.html but I find that to be an invalid address.

Please provide me with some more suggestions.

If you manually install Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll file at server, please refer to the following two methods.

1. Method one

a. Please rename your license file to the following name, e.g: Aspose.Cells.Reporting.Services.lic.

b. Please copy the license into following folder:

${SQL Server for Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer
or
${SQL Server for Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.

c. Please see the reference: License Document.

2. Method two

a. Update registry table.

i. Create HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aspose\Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices key for x64 OS.

ii. Create HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aspose\Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices key for x86 OS.

iii. Create the Path value . The path value should point to the location of Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file.

iv. Place Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file into the folder.

v. Please set the license file in Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file using the following context.

Also, please check the license file name and whether there is an invalid license file at your mentioned 4 folders.

We also recommend you to kindly download and try the latest fixed version/fix: Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services v1.8.0.16 (MSI)

If you still face the issue, please set the logger debug level at the Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.xml file.

And re-export report, get Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.log and post it here.

We will check it ASAP.

We have completed methods one and two but we still get the watermark evaluation copy message. We have also added the "Debug" value in the xml but we do not see any log file being generated. Where would the log file be generated and what would the name be?

Please find your log file inside your installation folder.

Please see red highlighted text to read the name of log file.

Check log file.
If you cannot find log file (Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.log) in ${Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services installation folder}, please modify installation folder permission.

If Watermark appears then
Please post Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.log and log for MS SSRS 2008 R2 here. We will check them.

Try copying license file
Please try copy a license file into following folder :
${MS SQL Server for Reporting Services} \Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.

We have copied the lic file into ${MS SQL Server for Reporting Services} \Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin with the same result.

We are now able to create a log file if we could send it to you.

Well, after looking your license (by opening it into notepad) you sent to us, your license is for Aspose.Cells for .NET product and not for Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services product, so, you are getting the error, i.e…, “the license is not valid for this product” etc. You cannot use a product’s license with other product. Please use Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services license if you have. If you don’t have, you need to purchase it to work with Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services product professionally.
